God Getaways Christian Meditation & Healing Retreat

June 5-14, 2020

flowing in the spirit

Flowing in the Spirit of God

This year’s retreat topic is Flowing in the Spirit of God. Does your life feel like one struggle after another? Are you trying to MAKE things happen in your own way and timing? Are you constantly trying to figure out what you need “to do” to be happy?

When we are living in the flow of God’s Spirit, we don’t have to make things happen because God’s blessings just overtake us!

Jesus was flowing with God when He said, “I only do what the Father tells me to do,” or “I and the Father are one.” If we believe that God is our source and greatest supply, we need only to cast down our nets at his command to receive a harvest.

In this retreat, we will explore how we can live in the flow of God’s Spirit by “allowing” His love, blessings, abundance, and peace to move freely and naturally through and eliminate resistance to our dreams and desires.

Through Christian meditation, self-awareness, and other spiritual disciplines at this retreat you’ll learn how to:

            • Let go of your fears and limiting beliefs
            • Understand how “you” create your own reality
            • Flow & affect with what God is doing in your life
            • Understand the “true” source of your happiness
            • Learn how to let go and allow God
            • Open doors to greater blessings and abundance
            • Effortlessly create a life you’ll love
            • Set an intention for your life
            • Remove resistance to your dreams and desires
            • Learn how your thoughts and emotions dictate your success
        •

About the Retreat Location:

Located in the heart of the magnificent region of Gascony, surrounded by fields and hills, The Château is an historical French estate whose foundations date back to the Middle Age.

With its towers, windmills, ancient wine cellar, the Château is an authentic leftover of the French history and a reflection of the unique rural tradition of the region.

For the most part, the current batiment of the castle dates back to the 18th century built by the Comtesse de Beaumont, a former courtesan at the King of France court. The Comtess, who owned the Château until the early 19th century, built a splendid estate including a huge park decorated with statues as well as a small chapel.

With 12 bedrooms decorated in a warm, rural and antique style, two living rooms equipped with TV and WIFI, dining rooms, French pool room with board games, historical library, a large studio room of 160 sqm, a 6-acre park featuring ancient oaks and a splendid bathing lake located a few minutes away, the Château is the ideal setting to welcome large groups and host retreats in a tranquil and serene environment.

In addition to the practice of yoga and training activities, guests can enjoy their free time at the Château by taking walks through the exquisite countryside, going for refreshing baths in the nearby swimming lake, visiting local markets and historical villages nearby, participating in local festivals and tasting local wines as well as delicious regional products.

Flight and Transportation Details:

(Please  watch video and read thoroughly before booking flights.)

      • You can fly directly into Toulouse Airport or fly into Paris CDG Airport and take 1.5 hour flight to Toulouse. There are many flights throughout the day. Check prices for both options. I will fly into Paris and take flight to Toulouse as it is less expensive. Flights from Paris (CDG) to Toulouse (TLS) are around $80-125 round-trip. You will have to coordinate these flights.

Transportation Itinerary for Retreat Dates June 5-14.

Arriving in France

Option # 1-

Arrive in Paris (CDG) on Friday, June 5, 2020. Catch a connecting flight from Paris to Toulouse (TLS) on June 5, 2020. (They leave throughout the day). Spend night in assigned hotel (included in price of retreat). Catch group bus to retreat at 2:00 p.m. on June 6, 2020.

Option # 2-

Fly into Toulouse (TLS) on June 5. Spend night in assigned hotel. Catch bus to retreat at 2:00 p.m. on June 6, 2020.

(Please do not fly into France on June 6; you may have flight delays and this gives you a buffer.)

Leaving France

Option # 1-

From retreat center, bus leaves to Toulouse hotel at 10 a.m. on June 13 arriving around noon. Take shuttle to airport for your Toulouse (TLS) flight to Paris (CDG) and Paris to home on June 13, 2020.

Option # 2-

From retreat center, bus leaves to Toulouse hotel at 10 a.m. on June 13 arriving around noon. Spend the night in Toulouse (TLS) (included in retreat price). Next day, take shuttle to airport for your Toulouse flight to Paris (CDG) and Paris (CDG) to home.

 Option # 3-

From retreat center, bus leaves to Toulouse hotel at 10 a.m. on June 13 arriving around noon. Spend the night in Toulouse (including in price). Extend your stay (on your own; airbnb, hotels, hostels) for exploration and tours in France or surrounding area. Eurotrain can take you almost anywhere in Europe.

      • Flights vary greatly by airport and location so check major airports near you and get creative for the best flights and prices. Here are a few flights prices I found on 8/14/2019 to Paris from SFO $391, LAX $505, Miami $439.
      • If you are leaving France for home on same day, please give yourself enough time to get checked in at airport so you don’t miss your flight and connecting flight (if coming via Paris).
      • Please arrive on June 5, 2020.  Flight delays can occur and this will assure you arrive on time.  Pre and Post hotel stay (double-occupancy) near Toulouse airport is included in cost of retreat. Hotel has free airport shuttle to and from airport. If you miss transportation times, you will need to provide your own transportation. The retreat center is 1.5 hours from airport. You can get a taxi ($225 euros) or rent car (much cheaper).
      • Unless you have travel miles, I highly recommend getting flight through skyscanner.com. They have the best rates I have seen thus far.
      • The best time to purchase flight for retreat is 6-months in-advance. According to online travel sites, the best month to purchase international flights is before the end of January. After that, flights will begin to inch up each month.
      • We will have several conference calls to discuss travel plans if you need more information or feel free to call or email me.
      • I’m sure that some of you will be staying in France or visiting the surrounding areas after the retreat ends; therefore, you will want to book your retreat flights to depart at a later date. I plan on spending some time in Paris afterwards. You can also check out available tours. There will be many people to hook up with after the retreat. You can add your interest to our FB and What’s App groups.  The best thing is to decide how long you want to stay and a rough idea of where you plan to go. You will have time to plan specifics.

What’s Not Included:

        • Airfare to and from France.
        • Post retreat excursions or tours; however, feel free to extend your stay in France. At the retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with others who may be staying longer and/or book additional tours or outings.
        • Travel insurance (strongly recommended)
        • Any meals outside of retreat center or during excursions.
        • Massage or spa services.

Passport:

You will need a passport for this trip. Passports may take up to 8-weeks to arrive. Please submit form as soon as possible.

Currency Exchange:

Please exchange currency (dollars for euros) at your local bank to save on exchange fees. Chain banks like Bank of America and Wells Fargo provide this service. Please allow at least a week to receive. You if don’t have an account at these banks, you can ask a friend to order for you. Many places do take credit cards but it’s a good idea to bring some cash. Also, let your bank know you will be traveling so they don’t put a hold on your account.

Cell Phones:

It is recommended that you contact your cell phone provider prior to the trip. Some providers will provide international calling at increased cost or you may be able to purchase a European sim card that will allow for international calling and possibly text messages. You can purchase on Amazon. In addition, inside the airport, there will probably be stores like Vodaphone, Tims, or Wings where you can purchase a sim card as well.

Electrical Adapters:

European outlets are different than than the United States, so I would recommend purchasing one online prior to trip. You will need one to charge your phone, etc. There are places in Europe to buy them as well.

Refund Policy:

Deposits are not refundable. All payments are due by April 5, 2020. There are no refunds within 5-months of retreat date unless we can fill you spot. We also encourage you to get travel insurance in case you must cancel trip prematurely.

Easy Payment Plan

Easy payment plans are also available. After paying deposit, you can make monthly payments until trip is paid in full. Each month, you’ll receive a notice that payment is due. Payments will not be automatically taken from your account. You will need to make manual payments for each pay period. Please try to stay current with payments.

Coming Solo

The majority of retreaters come alone. We will match you with a roommate unless you purchase single occupancy at a higher rate. This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with new friends. If you are coming with a friend, just let us know and we will room you together. Later, you will have opportunity to list important details about your trip (roommates, flight information, food choices, etc.)

Have a Specific Talent or Skill?

If you are a yoga teacher, singer, worship leader, exercise or tai chi instructor and would like to lead one of our classes, please let me know. It’s been wonderful having different participants share their talents with others.

More Information to Come:

After registering for the retreat, you will receive link to our private retreat page, What’s app, and Facebook groups. These will provide you with additional information about the retreat as well as connect you with others. Also, feel free to contact me via email or phone.

Meditation Coaching:

Rhonda is available for meditation coaching for a fee of $30 for 30 minutes. Please click on link to sign up for coaching prior to the retreat. A sign-up appointment sheet will be made available at the retreat. Click Here to Sign Up for Coaching. You can sign  up at the retreat as well.

Post Retreat:

Many retreaters extend their trip to explore additional cities and sites. You may be interested in exploring Paris, Barcelona, or even Switzerland. If so, please book your return flight to accommodate for any post-retreat travel. In What’s App and during the retreat you may connect with others to travel with. There are also many tours that you can purchase. For post retreat travel, you will also need to book additional accommodations. The retreat includes one-night post retreat hotel stay to give you a little leverage when booking your return flight. Busses will return to hotel around 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

FIND OUT IF THIS RETREAT IS FOR YOU?

A GOOD FIT IF:

  • You have a genuine interest in Christian meditation and want to deepen your practice and spend time connecting with God in a quiet and serene location.
  • You love meeting and getting to know new people.
  • You desire to grow spiritually and are open to participating in workshops and instructor-lead activities that will move you toward this desire.
  • You enjoy walking, eating healthy foods, and trying new things.
  • You have an open heart and mind and enjoying sharing the love of Christ.
  • You want to incorporate fun activities and some socializing while also addressing your spiritual needs.

NOT A GOOD FIT IF:

  • The goal of these retreats are to promote transparency, openness, support, healing, and love. If you have a problem with gossip, backbiting, or creating dissension, this may not be the retreat for you. I understand that many people have problems with negative thoughts and can greatly benefit from the instruction and workshops, so don’t let that stop you. However, talking negatively about others or backbiting will not be tolerated and you will be banned from attending future retreats. God is love and we have control over our tongues!
  • You need internet access and technology to stay sane. We want you to leave the world of technology behind for a few days so you can focus on others, yourself, and your relationship with God.
  • You are looking for “mostly” a FUN-FILLED vacation! Although we are planning some optional and group activities during our free time (hiking, biking, excursions) our main priority will be to cultivate a life-long Christian meditation practice.
  • You find walking difficult.  There may be lots of walking.
  • You’re looking for the luxury amenities of a 4-star hotel.
  • Stepping out of your comfort zone just isn’t your thing.
  • You are seeking to connect with God in a quiet setting with few distractions or activities.  I am planning on hosting some retreats for those who really want to JUST deepen their practice and spend time with God that incorporates activities that support this.
